CS 201: Chain Making Fundamentals

This workshop is available to members and non-members and is intended for experienced Jewellers. During the session we will discuss and demonstrate how to construct a number of different styles of chains. Participants will use measuring tools and hand tools to improve on their Jewellery skills by creating complex chain patterns. Participants must wear closed-toe shoes and should not wear loose clothing or accessories that could get tangled in equipment. 

Launchpad members; please be aware that attending a 201 studio workshop does not give you booking privileges to the studio. To obtain unrestricted access to a Creative Studio you must complete the 101 Safety Training for the relevant studio.

Hannah Cowan is a Goldsmith and Jewellery designer. Based in Toronto she has worked in the industry over the last decade creating limited production and custom work with clients, both locally and internationally. Among her achievements is the showroom and studio where she brought her brand 'Edith Hannah Fine Jewellery' to life. Here at Launchpad, she loves seeing the diverse pool of creativity that its members bring to the community, and enjoys participating in problem-solving in both the Fine Metals & Jewellery Studio and Textile & Fashion Studio.

Arrival Information: Members please arrive at the relevant studio 5 minutes prior to the event start time, public attendee’s or members without studio access please check-in with the membership services front desk, they will show you into the studio. Please note, late arrivals (15 minutes or more) will not be admitted. These courses have limited capacity and require preparation by the Creative Studio’s technical team.
