This course is intended for members and non-members with Fine metal and Jewellery experience as well as participants who are new to this discipline. During the session, we will discuss and demonstrate how to operate the laser welder safely and discuss why and how it is used in Jewellery production. At the end of this session, participants will have a better understanding of safety, how to adjust the microscope, differences between laser welding and classic torch soldering, setting adjustments, laser welding techniques and applications.
Members, please be aware that attending a 201 does not give you open access to the Studio. To obtain unrestricted access to a Studio you must complete the 101 Safety Training for that Studio.

Zef is a Toronto based jewellery designer with more than 14 years of experience in making handmade and manufactured jewellery. Growing up in a jewellery family Zef inherited the passion for making handmade pieces from his father, a filigree master. Zef uses this ancient technique in his jewellery. Besides making pieces from scratch, Zef has experience with the Lost Wax Casting – Process which helps to create multiple pieces from one singe design.
