Meet The Beat is a hour-long live streamed discussion/workshop based on music production hosted by Juno Award winning producer, Rich Kidd. This session features Rich Kidd talking about production techniques, software, hardware, songwriting, the business of selling production and everything else surrounding the world of composing popular music. Occasionally a special guest will join the chat for an interview, beat playing segment, and Q & A from our digital audience.

Ritchie Acheampong, better known as Rich Kidd, is a Canadianhip hoprecording artist, record producer, community program organizer and film/video director from Toronto, Ontario.
He is a two-time nominee for the Juno Award for Rap Recording of the Year as a solo artist, garnering nominations at the Juno Awards of 2013 for The Closers and at the Juno Awards of 2014 for In My Opinion.
In 2013, he formed the project Naturally Born Strangers with collaborators Tona and Adam Bomb. That group's debut release, The Legends League Presents: Naturally Born Strangers, won the Juno Award for Rap Recording of the Year at the Juno Awards of 2015.
He has produced for many acts such as Drake, Busta Rhymes, k-OS, Nelly Furtado, Lupe Fiasco and more. As a community leader, Rich has tirelessly worked to mentor young creatives across spectrums. Whether independently or through running workshops in schools, community centres and non-profits, Rich’s charismatic brand of honest conversation and optimistic advice has cemented his reputation as being a leader in the city of Toronto and “the people’s champ”.
