Strategy for Creatives - 3 - Strategic Collaboration

A three-part workshop series gives you a solid understanding of strategy and how it can be applied throughout the creative process.

Session 1: Research and Level Up

This workshop will provide an understanding of foundational research methods that will help build stronger creative concepts and help you get buy-in from stakeholders across departments.

This is the first workshop in a three-part series. To get a thorough understanding of arts grants, we recommend attending all three workshops in the series.

You Will Learn

  • How to conduct (relatively) quick research to support creative problem-solving

  • How to get a deep understanding of your audiences

  • How to deliver research-backed creativity to stakeholders

  • How to apply different forms of research across project phases to strengthen conceptualization 

Session 2: Developing Insights

This workshop will help you develop actionable insights that help you deliver better creative concepts. It will also help participants understand what is and isn’t insight.

This is the second workshop in a three-part series. To get a thorough understanding of arts grants, we recommend attending all three workshops.

You Will Learn

  • What is and is not an insight

  • How to generate actionable insights

  • How to translate research into actionable insights

  • How to translate insights into strategic creative

Session 3: Strategic Collaboration

This workshop will provide both the hard and soft skills necessary for collaboration across disciplines. It will also provide guidance on how to lead collaborative sessions as well as methods and activities for creative concepting sessions

This is the third workshop in a three-part series. To get a thorough understanding of arts grants, we recommend attending all three workshops.

You Will Learn

  • How to drive collaboration across disciplines and crafts

  • How to confidently lead collaborative sessions

  • Collaborative methods and exercises to drive ideation

  • How to keep teams aligned and focused 

  • How to distill outputs of collaborative sessions into actionable decisions

About the Speaker:

A culturally-minded strategic thinker, Geoff currently works at Jam3 as a Sr. Strategist. There, he has developed experiences and strategies for a range of clients such as Facebook, Google, PostMates, Oculus, Adidas, and more.
He also teaches at OCAD U, Miami Idea School, and hosts workshops at a number of not-for-profit organizations. As a consultant, he works with start-ups and small businesses across design, fashion, tech, and other verticals.
What underlines all of his work is the notion that learning, design, and culture should be inclusive and participatory.
