An introduction for electronics or synthesizer beginners who are curious about the creative potential of Launchpad’s Electronic Studio. Gain insight into key principles of electronic synthesis for music and experimental sound production. Learn about different types of synthesizers and the electrical circuits that they are made of.
You Will Learn
•How synthesizers use electricity to create a sound
•Different types of synthesizers and synthesizer controllers
•Synthesizer terminologies like VCO and VCF
•Analog versus digital oscillator circuits
•Using an Oscilloscope and other tools in the Electronics studio
About the Instructor:
Nicole is an art educator and artist working in sculpture and digital media. They studied Studio Arts at the Alberta University of the Arts and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Nicole uses synthesizers to make music in their bands and video art, and are currently developing conceptual sculpture comparing non-binary gender and electrical waveforms.
